In terms of islands, Hvar is a top destination not just in Croatia but throughout all of Europe. It is understandable given how well-developed tourism is there and how interesting the nightlife is on Hvar, even for individuals who aren’t particularly into clubbing. Additionally, Hvar has the most sunshine hours per year of any island, by far. One of Croatia’s ten UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the so-called Stari Grad Plain, was added to the list of these sites in 2008. This is another intriguing information about the island of Hvar. Each of Hvar’s four principal municipalities—Hvar (town), Stari Grad, Jelsa, and Sucuraj—has a number of settlements.
